Thomas Carter Obituary

Thomas Vehslage Carter, 79, of Nashville, Indiana, passed away at his home on October 5, 2025.

Born in Seymour, Indiana, Tom was the son of Travis J. Carter and Helene Vehslage Carter. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1965 and earned his degree from Louisiana State University. Tom founded and operated Real Time Concepts for more than three decades, earning the respect of colleagues and clients through his ingenuity and work ethic. Tom's adventures began when he hitchhiked between Seymour and Baton Rouge in the 1960s. His work and wanderlust later carried him to cities across North America and beyond - from Los Angeles and Montreal to San Francisco and London to Puerto Rico - before he returned home to Indiana, where he spent his remaining years surrounded by the land he loved. Tom found solace in nature, always outdoors with his rescue dogs, splitting wood, fishing in his pond, or relaxing on the deck with a glass of Johnnie Walker Black while listening to Bob Dylan.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter, Julie; siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 24, from 5-7 PM at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Seymour, Indiana.
