Wanda Geswein Obituary

Wanda Mae (Payton) Geswein, 95, of Lanesville, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon. Mae was born on October 2, 1928, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Wilford and Hazel (Barnickle) Payton. She graduated from New Middletown High School, and on her 18th birthday, she married Earl Geswein. After raising their family, she assisted Earl in his business, and following his passing, she worked at Lanesville Community School for many years.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and her sister, Norma Fisher.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jane Chanley, Brenda Schneider (Glenn), and Karen Gossett; her grandchildren, Jason Schneider (Jessica), Travis Schneider (Amanda), Zac Schneider (Kelly), and Trinity Lee; and her great grandchildren, Ellie, Lucy, Jackson, Lauren, Avery and Griffin Schneider, and Emerson, Foster, Given and Trigg Lee.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Lanesville.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests anyone wishing to donate in her memory, can do so to Lanesville Community Schools kitchen needs or your charity of choice.

The family would like to thank Cedar Court, Harrison Healthcare Center and St. Croix Hospice for their devotion and care.
