Bettye Ketelboeter Obituary
KETELBOETER - Following a short hospital stay, Bettye Emmalyn Ketelboeter, "Aunt Ruth," 80, of Auburn, Ga., left her earthly home Nov. 12, 2025, to take up residence in the heavenly realms with Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord.
Bettye was born Feb. 10, 1945, in Bainbridge, Ga., to Clyde Merrill Humphrey Ketelboeter and Arnie William Ketelboeter.
Bettye attended St. Marys Elementary School, graduated honor roll from Camden County High School and attended Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, Ga. In high school, she played basketball, was a football cheerleader and was involved in various other clubs. After college, most of her work life was spent with Honeywell Inc.
Bettye became very involved in church music ministry, beginning as church organist at age 14 at the St. Marys Presbyterian Church. She continued her music ministry as pianist/organist at St. Marys United Methodist Church, Norcross First Global Methodist Church and John's Creek United Methodist Church. At Norcross, she directed the Chorister Children's Choir, sang with the Chancel Choir and Selah, coached the girls softball team and was a member of the Jet Set, Gerry at Tricks Singers and Joy Bible Study. She was often a familiar face in the nursery, where she enjoyed rocking the infants.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Arnie Ketelboeter.
She is survived by her sister, Bobbye Raye Kennison, and her husband, Carey; three nieces and their families, Renee and Jeff Ingram, Riley Ingram, Colton Ingram, Bailey (Ingram) and Adam Hendrick, and their two young sons, Stetson and Rhett, and Carson Ingram and fiancée, Vanessa D'Angelo, Kristi and Jack Camarda Jr., Jake and Kinsley Camarda, Abby (Camarda) and Nolan Scourtis, Casey and Chris Corneliuz, Grace Corneliuz and Cooper Corneliuz; and several first cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in the Norcross First Methodist Global Church Chapel. The family will accept visitors in the Hall of the Apostles beginning at 10 a.m. The Revs. Eddie Bradford and Brenda Westmoreland will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norcross First Global Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
