Joe McSwain Obituary

McSWAIN - Joe William McSwain, 86 of Kingsland, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home July 26, 2024.
Joe was born October 16, 1937, in Alma, Ga., to Joseph and Annie Mae McSwain, being second youngest to seven other siblings. He gave his life to Christ in his early years, and later graduated from Bible Baptist College of Springfield, Mo., in 1972, after three years of study. Besides pastoring in countless different churches throughout the years, Joe maintained a wonderful career of 22 years with Lockheed Martin.
Joe married his beloved wife, Anna, on Sept. 21, 1960. He was an amazing husband, and an even better father to their three children. After 49 years of an unwavering marriage, he was widowed in 2011 after Anna's passing.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters and one son, Leslie McSwain, Debra Hubert and John (Kellie) McSwain, and four grandsons and two granddaughters, Bryan Thigpen, Jennifer (David) Weis, James "Matt" McSwain, Logan (Alec) Bradford, John "Caleb" Brown and Braedyn Smith. He also leaves behind three great-granddaughters, Audrey (John) Phillips, Blakelynn Bradford and McKenna Brown-Woods, as well as a sister, Dorothy Steely, and several beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Anna McSwain; parents, Joseph and Annie Mae; and siblings, Isabelle, Robert, Johnny, Willie, Ernestine and Christine.
Services were Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Allison Memorial Chapel. Visitation was 10:30-11 a.m. and service began at 11 a.m. Burial followed at Piney Grove Cemetery in Waycross, Ga.
