Lilith Lindie Obituary

LINDIE - It is with deep love and reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Lilith Leonora Bender Lindie, who departed this life peacefully Nov. 4, 2025, at the extraordinary age of 108.
"With Long Life I Will Satisfy Him And Show Him My Salvation" - Psalm 91:16.
Born Jan. 17, 1917, in Guyana, South America, Lilith Lindie was a woman of unwavering faith, boundless love and enduring strength. A native of Berbice, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ariel Yansen and Josiah Bender. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Cedric Lindie; three beloved sons, Donald Lindie, Patrick Falconer and Cedric Lindie Jr.; sisters, Rebecca Juandoo, Sybil Blair, Barbara Grimmond, Evelyn Christiani and Sylvie Bender; and brothers, Doric and Albert Bender.
A pillar of her family, Lilith Lindie leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: daughters, Annette Marina McRae, Grace Campbell, Lilith Lindie and Thelma Lindie, and sons, Arnold Lindie, Edgar Lindie and Oscar Lindie. Her lineage continues through 40 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members, each a testament to her enduring spirit and nurturing heart.
In 1979, Lilith immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she served as a certified nurse aide for more than 14 years. Her compassion and care touched countless lives. In 1994, she made her home in St. Marys, Ga., where she remained until her passing. Lilith was a devoted member and Mother of Greater Trinity Community Church.
Lilith Lindie was the sixth member of her family to reach the age of 100 in two generations - a remarkable testament to her vitality and grace. In 2024, she was honored by the city of St. Marys with a proclamation recognizing her as the oldest resident, a moment of pride for her family and community.
Despite her advanced years, Lilith was blessed with a sound mind and body, experiencing only the gentle aches of age. Her life was a living sermon of faith, family and fortitude. She was a woman of quiet strength, wisdom and grace. She carried our family with love that stretched across generations, and her presence alone could calm any storm. Lilith's laughter, her stories, and her unwavering faith will forever live in our hearts.
Though we will miss her deeply, we find peace in knowing she lived a long, beautiful and fulfilling life, one filled with love, purpose and family. Her journey reminds us all to live fully, love deeply and cherish every moment we are given.
She will forever be remembered.
