Martin Spangler Obituary

SPANGLER - Martin "Luke" Luther Spangler III, 69, of St. Marys, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at his residence.
He was born June 18, 1956, to the late Martin Luther Jr. and Cecelia Agnes Lafriner Spangler in Opelika, Ala. Luke was a powerhouse operator for Gilman Paper Company and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was an avid Gator fan and was always involved in coaching his son's baseball and football teams over the years.
Luke was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Leeann Spangler.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debbie Spangler; son, Jeffrey Martin Spangler (Nichole), all of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Sonya Finley (Nathan), Kirra Levine, Eva Spangler and Julian Spangler; two brothers, Johnny Spangler (Jan) of Browntown, Ga., and Matt Spangler of Richmond, Va.; and numerous relatives and extended family.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Allison Memorial Chapel, and the funeral service will begin 2 p.m. with Martin Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Pallbearers will include Sidney Howell, Pepper Kinsey, Ricky Pittman, Doug Lewis, Mark Hernandez and Richard Bennett.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
