Sarah Joseph Obituary
She departed this life Nov. 13, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga., in the presence of her loving family. She joined First African Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age, serving for many years in the choir. She also was a member of the Sykes Singers.
Sarah married the love of her life, the late Robert Louis Joseph, in 1965. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. During her lifetime, she met a lot of great people and established lasting friendships. Sarah touched so many lives and her legacy will continue to live on. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful unique smile.
Besides her parents and husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her son, John Hubbard Sr.; brother, Dennis Hopkins; and grandson, John Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Robin Joseph of Los Angeles, Calif., Brinda (Rickey) Jenkins of St. Marys, Ga., Linda Atwaters of Kingsland, Ga., Donna Hopkins of Kingsland, Ga., Angela (Cricket) Smith of Kingsland, Ga., Beatrice Shivalier of Kingsland, Ga., Melissa (Charles) Nelson of Alexandria, Va., Robert (Beverly) King of Port Arthur, Texas, and Danielle Leonard, St. Marys, Ga.; brothers and sisters, Theoda Campbell of Jacksonville, Fla., Willie (Nancy) Hopkins of Jacksonville, Fla., Alexander Hopkins of Kingsland, Ga., Ella Waye of Kingsland, Ga., Nadine Hopkins of Kingsland, Ga., James (Linda) Hopkins of Yulee, Fla., and Winifred (John) Glover of Kingsland, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Luverta Anderson of Kingsland, Ga., and Justina Ford of Kingsland, Ga.; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; god daughter, Natasha Morris of Atlanta, Ga; adopted daughter, Gail Heard of Augusta, Ga.; special friends, Maddie Hutchinson and Delores Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at First African Missionary Baptist Church, 495 N. Lee St. in Kingsland, Ga. A visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. at the church Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
Sunset Funeral Home is in charge of final arrangements.
