Sharon Elise Mathis

MATHIS - Sharon Elise Scott Mathis, 58, of St. Marys, Ga., passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at her residence.
She was born and raised in St. Marys, Ga., on Stable Alley, close to the waterfront. She loved being downtown to play by the water when she was young. At age 17, she moved to Spurger, Texas, with the man she would later marry July 19, 1986. Sharon lived life to the fullest for most of her life and was loved by family and friends from coast to coast. She later moved to California to join me when my work took me there. Sharon loved to joke around and have fun with friends and family and enjoyed cooking for everyone.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Lily G. Scott; two sisters, Lucindy Roe and Roxanne Wiesner; grandmother, Lucy Wiesner; and special cousin Hearl Branch.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Henry E. Mathis; father, Gary Scott; and cousins Karen Branch and Zell Thomas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at the pavilion in downtown St. Marys, Ga., waterfront.
