Tomeka Anetra Waye

1975 - 2025

WAYE - Tomeka Anetra Waye was born Jan. 31, 1975, to Annette Stanley and Gary Roberts in Brunswick, Ga.
She attended Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga. Tomeka accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Word of Faith Church in East Point, Ga., where she served faithfully until her health began to fail.
She passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Fernandina Beach, Fla., surrounded by her loving family members. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bernard Stanley, and grandparents, Curtis and Madeline Waye, as well as Lois Roberts.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving son, Jaylen Mitchell; loving and devoted mother, Annette Stanley; father, Gary Roberts; sister, Antoinette (Obie) Erondu; brother, Cory (Joy) Waye; nephews, Cory Jr., Kurtis and Caden Waye, and Joshua, Jacob and Noah Erondu; close friends, Coy Gaines, Nia Lee, Nabeehah Rasheed and Johnola Asberry; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other friends who will certainly miss her dearly.
The will not be a wake or visitation Friday, Sept. 26, 2025. Remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services Saturday.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at Georgia Avenue Church of God, 740 N. Georgia Ave. in Kingsland, Ga., with Bishop Arthur Dawson.
Repast will be immediately following the services at Evergreen Life Center, 1365 Kinlaw Road in Woodbine, Ga.
There will be a private disposition following services.
