Candice Knutson Kooskia, ID - Candy Knutson, 74, Kooskia, Idaho, entered heavenly rest suddenly Thursday, September 18, 2025. A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, October 4 at Grace Bible Church in Kamiah. You can watch it here (time stamps in the first comment, including times for Rick's eulogy and the slideshow):
https://youtu.be/NW_dGSrIhLk?si=wxTGjvcaU_7IOBzaCandice Ruth (Weber) Knutson was born September 5, 1951 to Henry (Hank) and Melody Weber of Riverside, Illinois. She and her sister, Melody, grew up skiing in the Rockies during winter breaks and loving social events with their friends.
Candy graduated from high school in Delavan, WI. She received an Associate's Degree from the College of DuPage, Illinois. She and Richard (Dick) Knutson married and Richard (Rick) was born in 1979. They lived in Sun Prairie and then in Poynette. Candy worked for the State of Wisconsin in various positions, but particularly liked the Department of Natural Resources. She volunteered at parades, corn festivals, Wisconsin state fairs and as an EMT for Poynette's EMS. Candy blossomed in her love for the Lord at Lighthouse Family Ministries in Poynette. Shortly after Dick and Candy parted ways, she moved back to Delavan.
For the next decade, she volunteered with Walworth County Volunteer Connections giving people rides and helping them get food. She took college Spanish classes so that she could communicate better with some of the people she met. She was involved with the Gold Star program and that was very meaningful to her. Candy moved out to Idaho in 2020 so that she could spend time with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a woman who loved Jesus and stood firm on His unconditional love and gift of salvation. Also, as being a Bears fan (she'd sing "Bare down, Chicago Bears" if she were here right now). She enjoyed crafting and was willing to befriend anyone. She has left behind her son, Rick (Marla), and grandchildren Collin (Briana), Kierstin, Quintin, Caedmon, Kaylin, Cameron, Caledon, Kerrigan, Cohen, Kendralyn and Colton and many others that she considered family.
In lieu of flowers, praise the Lord for giving you another day, and ask Him for an idea of something extra nice that you could do for someone else.
