MENASHA/LODI, WI - Nancy Lou Voss, age 92 was peacefully called to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2024. Born the daughter of Percy and Lydia (Wille) Wade on September 10, 1932, in Watertown, Wisconsin. A graduate of Watertown High School, Nancy would come to marry Merlyn on January 16, 1954, a marriage blessed for 67 years. As a devoted mother, Nancy poured a faithful heart into nurturing her children, instilling in them values of compassion, integrity, kindness and perseverance. Her love knew no bounds, and her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and accomplishment.
Beyond her role as a mother, Nancy was a beloved friend, and a source of strength for many. Her genuine warmth and ability that created lasting bonds was very important. As a long time, Sunday School Teacher she found great happiness in sharing the love of Jesus with children. Involved in many WELS women's organizations, Nancy brought her devotion to the Lord to help inspire and encourage all.
Together with Merlyn they enjoyed worldwide travels that included places as far away as China, Korea, Australia, Ireland and the Holy Lands, along with over two dozen cruises. Other passions include the Christmas celebration where family members came together to share special times. Nancy was known to bake 17 kinds of cookies, not to mention all the work and detail, that went into a perfect meal.
Along with being a wife and mother, Nancy would also find herself in the working world, holding jobs as a secretary in an insurance office in Cambria and then later after moving to Lodi as bookkeeper for the Lodi Veterinary Clinic until her retirement after some 44 years.
In loving memory of Nancy, a beacon of kindness, strength, and unwavering Christian love, she is survived by her children, Steve, Kathy (Rick) Kennedy, Dave (Kathy) and Dan (Leslie); eight grandchildren, Jenny (Dan) Silone, Kim (Brent) Schmitter, Michelle Kennedy, Heidi (Thomas) Gannon, Josh (Ashley) Voss, Jacob (Jenna) Voss, Dr. Megan (Jacob) Voss-Warner , Dr. Danielle Voss; eleven great grandchildren; sister in-law, Mary Lou Wade, and many other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn; parents; five brothers, Jim (Violet), Gene, Percy, Dave and Lee Wade, and a grandson, Jonathon Kennedy.
Our family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from Gardens of Fountain Way for their wonderful care and the love they shared with Mom during her time in their care. Equally, a thank you to the amazing staff and support team at Heartland Hospice. Their love and patience bring grace and dignity on the journey that is life. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K, Arlington, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 26, 2024. Burial will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the church. A luncheon at the church will follow the interment.
