Aleene Joyce Neel Fruehling passed away December 14, 2003, at Kennewick General Hospital. She was born November 22, 1917 in Kennewick, Washington. Heaven will be blessed with a loving and caring person.
Aleene was the second child of Henry and Lena Neel. She is survived by her son Jerry Arbogast and wife Clare; sister Eve McCloud; grandchildren Steve Arbogast and wife Lamees; Tami Dimond and husband Brian; Marcie Langford and husband Stacy; great-grandchildren Amber Wissenbach and husband Wyatt; Aaron Arbogast; great-great-grandchildren Echo and Ember Wissenbach and Mallory and Tillie Langford; nephews Tom Ryzek and wife Kitty, Mike Smith and wife Nancy; nieces Judy Keys and husband Cal; Kathleen Hodges and son Stewart; Sylvia Hedrick, Patty Conlen and Karen and sister-in-law Edythe Neel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred Fruehling, brother Lyle Neel, sisters Neva Conlen and Marita Demory, and in May, 2003, grandson Michael Arbogast.
Watching Kennewick grow was always a fascination, from a small farm town to a city. She worked on a farm; was the second woman to work on the Hanford Project during World War II; and later at the Tri-City Herald. After retiring, she loved to crochet and give her work as treasured gifts.
She was a loving mom, mom-in-law, grandma, sister, and aunt and will be very much missed.
Services for Aleene will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of Joy, Richland, Washington.
