Barbara Dallas Obituary

Barbara Dallas died on June 29, 2005, at age 58 after a long battle with cancer.The daughter of William and Welcome Mae Butler, she was born on December 26, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her husband Michael Dallas, her mother Welcome Mae McKown, her sister and brother-in-law Frances and Randy Smith of Seagrove, North Carolina, her aunt Frances Burris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her aunt and uncle Shirley and Dean Cutsinger of Alexander, Arkansas.
Barbara and Michael enjoyed living and traveling all over the world during their 34 years of marriage. Barbara made fast friends with hundreds of people and nurtured those friendships throughout her life. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary or special event. Barbara kept the home fires burning for Michael and the men and women under his command during his many deployments while in the military. She was always the first one to take care of all of the military wives and their families.
In addition to Michael, she had two other great passions in life her art and taking care of and loving her many animals. Barbara was an accomplished oil and water color artist and was a member of many art associations around the world. She enjoyed painting and teaching.
She was a lover of all animals and devoted her life to their care and humane treatment. She was an active member of many animal rights groups and sponsor of many charities for animals.
She also loved to entertain in her home and made everyone feel welcome and very special at every event.
Barbara was a bright, shining light wherever she walked and she will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Richland Humane Society, 8620 West Gage Blvd., Kennewick, WA 99336.
