Cindy Lou Seely
September 16, 1951 - November 8, 2025
Kennewick, Washington - Cindy Lou Seely, 74, of Kennewick, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at Callaway Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Kennewick, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born September 16, 1951, in Astoria, Oregon, to James and Joyce Cuykendall, Cindy grew up with love, laughter, and kindness in her heart-and three sisters, Caroline, Lora, and Wendy, that made each day a new adventure.
When she was twenty years old, she married Robert Schuh and welcomed her two children, Jonathan and Callie. The young family moved to a farm in Mesa, Washington, where Cindy began working as a secretary in the North Franklin School District.
Later, she met Darrell Seely, and they married, building a beautiful 33-year marriage filled with love and weekend adventures, movies (never the scary ones), and tending her beloved flower gardens. Together, they lived in Eugene, Oregon, where Cindy served for 14 years as an executive secretary for the Bethel School District, earning the deep respect of supervisors who regularly sought her trusted insight and admired her remarkable typing speed of 93 words per minute.
Cindy and Darrell traveled as much as they could, enjoying three trips to Hawaii, and others to Washington D.C., Minnesota, California, and Arizona, but her favorite place was always the Oregon Coast at Waldport, where the ocean breeze carried the same peace, she gave to everyone around her. Many great memories were made on that beach with family and loved ones.
Her greatest blessings were her children and grandchildren; nothing lit her up like their visits and the sound of their laughter. Cindy lived by honesty, faith, and selfless kindness. She always put others first. Her word was gold, her hugs were warm, and she made everyone feel truly welcome and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Wendy Cuykendall, Caroline Schreiber, and Lora Caldwell.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell Seely of Kennewick; son Jonathan Schuh (Denise) and daughter Callie McGrath (Conor); stepchildren, Darren Seely (Susie), Dana Seely-Soltero, and Danet Seely; and her grandchildren, Derek Seely, Christian Soltero (Abigail), Andrew and Charlotte Schuh, and Murphy and Liam McGrath.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Mueller's Funeral Home in Kennewick on December 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. A small reception with refreshments will follow, to be held at the Seely residence, address available at the service.
