FRANK SPANIEL Obituary

FRANK SPANIEL Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Frank E. Spaniel, age 87, passed away on September 20, 2017. He was born on March 29, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Frank graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1949 and East Central State Teachers College in Ada, Oklahoma. In 1952, he earned a degree in Education. Frank joined the Air Force in 1952. He was assigned to the pilot training squadron in Tuscan, Arizona and was transferred to Parks Air Force Base near Oakland, California. In 1954, he began a long career with Chevron Chemical Company in Richmond, California. Frank married Joan Getchell in 1956 and started a family with the birth their first child the following year. In 1960, he accepted a promotion with Chevron Chemical Company and relocated his young family to Kennewick, WA. He was employed with Chevron Chemical Company for 38 years and retired in 1992. For nearly 15 years, Frank was a member of the Benton Clean Air Authority Board of Directors. Frank was a jack of all trades. He believed anything was possible if it could be written or drawn on paper. He designed and built his own home where he resided for over 40 years. He valued family and was actively involved in the construction of his three son's homes in Kennewick. He enjoyed square dancing, raising farm animals, beekeeping, pigeon racing, hunting, fishing, cooking and financial planning. His captivating personality is greatly appreciated by friends he made at the bank, grocery store, pharmacy, gym, medical/dental offices, financial institution and other local businesses. They love him and his stories. Those who knew him say "he was a good man". Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Spaniel, his three sons Craig (Glenda), Rod (Belinda), Randy (Annette), seven grandchildren Travis, AJ, Ryan, Rebecca, Sean, Rachel, Lance and one great grandchild, Ace. Frank also leaves behind many relatives who he shared great times with and loved dearly. Service will be Saturday, October 14th, 11 a.m. at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls, 314 W. 1st Avenue, Kennewick followed by crypt-side service at Desert Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick. A reception will follow the services at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick. Joan, I am sorry to hear that you have lost your best friend in the whole world. Although it is only temporary, it still hurts. Frank was the first person to ask me to square dance when I was only nine years old and watching my parents on the dance floor. We will all meet again in a square in the great beyond. God bless.
