Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home
Helen M. Simonis, our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend left this world on June 5, 2011. Helen was born on April 14, 1937, to Anton and Julianna Klug of Burbank, Washington. Helen grew up with her family in Burbank and graduated, with honors, from Columbia High School in 1955.
Helen married Jonas Simonis in 1958. They enjoyed thirteen years together, bringing two children into this world. Helen's work ethic was always above and beyond the normal standards. She worked as a secretary, clerk at a toy store, Herf Jones Yearbooks, and finally in the Hanford area. She retired from Energy Northwest, where she earned several awards and accolades. Helen enjoyed working in her private 'Park.' She loved her roses and enjoyed watching the squirrels run by. More than anything, Helen loved her faithful companion, 'Benny,' her dog.
Helen is survived by her two children, Teresa A. Dowers of Sandy, Ore., John Simonis and wife Sherry of Aurora, Ore.; grandson, Jerry Hall of Gresham, Ore.; brothers, Donald Klug of Richland, Wash., Paul Arnold of Oshkosh, Wis.; brother-in-law, Vernon Benson of Kennewick, Wash.; sister, Rosemarie Swoboda of Kennewick, Wash.; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Klug of Pasco, Wash. Helen is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers John Michael, Anthony and Leonard Klug; brother-in-law, Donald Swoboda; sister, Alice Benson and niece, Julia Swoboda.
The family would like to publicly thank the entire staff of Parkview Estates for their overwhelming love and care of our mother during her last fifteen months. They would also like to express their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to Margie White for her dedication, love and companionship, spanning more than 30 years.
