JAY BAUMAN Obituary

JAY IRVIN BAUMAN Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home BaumanJay Irvin was born to Ernest and Ruth (Rumble) Bauman on August 2, 1930, in Modesto California. He passed away at home with family at his side, changing this life for his eternal home early in the morning on October 30, 2018. On December 21, 2017, Daddy suffered a large stroke that partly paralyzed the left side of his body. This gave the family the privilege to help care for him for the last 10 months. His days on this earth numbered 88 years and nearly 3 months. Daddy grew up in Modesto, California. At age 17 he accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. He remained faithful to this calling all his life. In 1952, he was united in marriage to Naomi Elisabeth Beery from Englewood, Ohio. To this union was born 10 sons and 1 daughter. They spent the first two years of their marriage in Camarillo CA, while he did his C. O. service. Daddy worked in the carpentry trade for most of his life. He and Mother moved to Ohio after his C. O. service was over and they spent 8 years in the Salem District before moving back to Modesto, where they lived for 25 years. In 1988, Daddy and Mother moved to Pasco, WA where they lived for 30 years until he passed from this life. They were blessed with limited assets and abundance of family time and good memories. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for more than 65 years. As Daddy became more dependent on others to care for him, he always said that he was so thankful for all that was done for him. His prayer was that all would be faithful. These words were spoken to each of us many times. He is survived by his wife, Naomi, his 11 children and their companions, Timothy & Rosemary, Daniel & Becky, Andrew & Connie, Paul & Dana, Abraham & Rebecca, Joseph & Linda, James & Michelle, Philip & Stephanie, Anna Brovont, Shawn Brovont, Joshua & Lana, and Jonathan & Sara; 77 grandchildren, 116 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. His brothers, Glenn & Laura, David & Charlene, his sister Ruth Ann Orndoff, brother-in-law Howard Flory and sister-in-law Shirley Bauman. In-laws, Miriam Beery, Joann Hege, Ruthie Beery, and James & Betty Beery; as well as many nephews, nieces, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Joy Wolf, his parents Ernest & Ruth, his in-laws Lawrence & Margaret Beery, Orpha Beery (step mother-in-law); his brothers, Clifford & Joann (second wife Mary), Weston & Lois, Oliver & Florence, brother-in-law Ted Orndoff, in-laws William Beery, Marlin Hege, Phil & Ruth Ritter, and Paul Beery. The visitation will be held at Sageland Farms, 1700 Cottonwood Dr. Pasco, WA, on Monday, Nov. 5th from 2:00 5:00 pm and 6:00 8:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Sageland Farms on Tuesday, Nov. 6th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at the Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, Pasco, WA.
