JOSE GUEVARA Obituary
JOS PANFILO GUEVARA Jose Panfilo Guevara, resident of Kennewick, Washington, passed away on August 9, 2018, at Trios Hospital at the age of 59. Jose was born in Mexico but lived in the Tri-cities all of his adult life. He was a cook at Guadalajara Restaurant when he met and married his wife, Nancy, and they were married for 15 years. Together they had three children: daughter, Alexandria, and two sons, Jose Jr. and Joel. A talented cook who loved his profession, Jose later started his own business. In 1989, he, along with his family, opened and operated Jose's Mexican Food in Richland, Washington, for years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time at the ocean, especially with the family. Jose battled with alcohol for many years and was diagnosed with cirrhosis. As a result, his physical health declined. However, he celebrated his tenth year of sobriety on July 4, 2018. He was awaiting a liver transplant and was scheduled to meet with the assessment team at Swedish Transplant Center in Seattle, Washington, when he suddenly became ill and was admitted to the hospital. He died two days later from medical complications. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. He is survived by his former wife, Nancy; his daughter, Alexandria (Cesar); his son, Jose Jr.; his son, Joel; and his two granddaughters, Genesis and Eva. His extended family will also miss him and includes Cesar's children, Alondra, Emilio and Alexa; and his granddaughter, Phoenix, along with his former father-in-law, Charles, and former brother-in-law, Rick. He is preceded in death by his father, Panfilo Guevara, and mother, Maria Guevara Peraza. Because Jose confessed Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he is now and forever in God's loving embrace. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16, KJV).
