Judy Lee McElroy
November 16, 1945 - November 25, 2025
Richland, Washington - Judy Lee McElroy, born November 16, 1945, in Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 at Village View Adult Family home. She was the beloved daughter of Rolly and Phyllis Williamson, and a cherished sister to Bob Williamson and the late Linda Thornton. Judy's life was defined by her deep love for people and her unwavering compassion. She served her community as a correctional officer at the Work Release facility in the Tri-Cities, where her kindness, fairness, and steady presence left a lasting impact. Even after she retired, Judy's commitment to helping others never wavered-she returned to the Work Release program as a cook, continuing to support and care for the people around her in the way she knew best. Guided by a lifelong desire to help others, especially children, Judy and her husband, Hugh McElroy, chose to become foster parents in the 1980s. Together, they opened their home and hearts to countless children over the years. Many of those children remained connected to Judy throughout her life, a testament to the love, stability, and hope she offered. She was a devoted mother to Kenny (Jodi), Nathan (Amy), Mike (Dorinda), Debra, Monty, and Darcy (Gerard). Her children were her pride and joy, but becoming a grandmother opened her heart even further. Judy adored her grandchildren deeply. She celebrated each milestone, cheered at every success, and offered her gentle wisdom whenever it was needed. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a constant source of delight, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Judy is preceded in death by her daughter, Kimmy K. Windsor; her parents, Phyllis and Rolly Williamson; her husband, Hugh McElroy; and her sister, Linda Thornton. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, and unshakeable love. Judy's impact on her family, her community, and the many children whose lives she touched will continue to ripple for generations. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Celebration of life will be held at The Moose Lodge in Pasco (2617 W. Sylvester st Pasco WA), on January 10th, 2026 from 1-4 pm.
