Kelly Huffaker
June 29, 1958 - January 31, 2021
Scottsdale , Arizona - Kelly Lynn Huffaker, 62, of Kodiak, Alaska passed away on January 31, 2021, in Scottsdale, Arizona while vacationing with his wife, Angela Janette Huffaker. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and community.
Beloved Father, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend
Kelly was born June 29, 1958 in Nampa, ID. He spent his childhood years in the Treasure Valley before joining the United States Navy in 1976. He started his military career in California where he met his best friend and brother for life Randy Dunn. He spent the majority of his career in the Philippines where he started his family of four children. Upon his discharge, Kelly followed his buddy to Richland, WA, and quickly became part of the Dunn family. This became home for Kelly and his 4 children. Kelly's goal in life was to be a dad and he was the best! Raising 4 kids in sports was a challenge, but always showed up for a game. He raised them with unconditional love, tremendous support and the proper tools to become the amazing young adults they are.
Kelly's love and knowledge of music was beyond admirable. Anyone willing to challenge him to some Rock-n-Roll trivia was in for a good time and at times a heated debate. Kelly never played an instrument but could whistle a tune that could be heard from afar. His whistle was infectious and he would teach you how to "whistle right".
Kelly married his friend Angela Larson in 2002 and soon started a journey to Alaska as hotel managers. After a short time in Fairbanks, AK, they moved to Kodiak, AK where they created a new life. In 2006, he was blessed with a new joy in life, the first of 7 grandchildren. During his winter hiatus he would travel to see kids and grandkids but also travel to new places with his wife, family and dear friends. He spent many winters exploring between Mexico, California, Hawaii, Washington and many roads in between.
Kelly was proceeded in death by parents Perry Stanford Huffaker and Elva Mae Reeves, Step Father George Richard (Dick) Painter, Father-in-Law, Mahlon Brewster Strope. Brothers Steven Duane Huffaker, Don Dunn, Howard Keith Dunn, Kenneth Dunn, and Sister Kay Ontiveros. Survived by wife Angela Janette Huffaker, Children Steven Lynn Huffaker (Ling), Kelly JR Huffaker, Randi Michelle Long, Andrew James Huffaker (Jennifer) and grandchildren Kiya Payton Huffaker, Natalya Senon Huffaker, Brooklyn Senon Huffaker, Atlas Emerson Huffaker, Ryker Maddox Huffaker, Cassio Mars Huffaker, Remington Mathew Huffaker, Brothers Stanley Ray Huffaker (Dana), Li Huffaker, Randy Dunn (Joanne), Dean Dunn (Linda), Richard Dunn, Sisters Sue Parsons, Theresa Seal (Verne), Brother-in-Law Jeffrey M Larson (Marie), Garry D Larson (Michelle) and Sister-inLlaw Annette M Watts (Timothy), Lauri Huffaker and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and loving friends.
