Laurie Butterworth Obituary

Laurie Jane Butterworth
August 3, 1956 - June 26, 2021
Richland, Washington - Laurie J. Butterworth was born in Seattle, WA, on August 3, 1956. She was adopted as an infant by Sue and Ardell Curtis of Kennewick. After graduating from Kamiakin High School, she attended Ricks College and received an Associate Degree, then graduated from BYU with a BS degree in Family Sciences.
While attending BYU, she met and married Eric in 1979. They were blessed with six children, Marissa (Mike), Austin (Marcy), Mollie (Dave), Chloe (Josh), Taylor (Amanda), and Dallin (Susana). Laurie will forever be loved by her children and 22 grandchildren.
She lived a life of service focusing on love and the light of Christ. She served many years in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and community organizations like My Friends' Place and Cork's Place. In 2016, Laurie and Eric served as senior missionaries in the California San Diego Mission. In most recent years, Laurie explored creative avenues such as glass mosaics, painting, and multi-media art. She also felt inspired to reconnect with her biological family that she found and loves.
Laurie is now reunited with her parents and her grandson, Walter and is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, her sister Nina, and many other dear relatives.
Services were held this past Thursday.

Sister Butterworth was a special person. I never saw her frown. She was so kind to me. Eric: We love and are here for you. I know that you know that your family is eternal!
