Lovevainey Chavez Obituary

Lovevainey (Viney) Chavez
March 29, 1951 - September 7, 2021
Kennewick, Washington - Lovevainey L. Chavez, (Nana) 70 of Kennewick was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She died at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington.
Viney, was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 29, 1951, to Frank and Doris Sartain. The family moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1952 where she was a lifelong resident for 69 years. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Chavez March 20, 1971 and they were married for 34 years until they divorced. However, they eventually became close friends and spoke every day, often attending family functions together.
After Viney's mom passed away in 1993 she dedicated her life to helping her dad (Our Papa). She devoted 20 years of her life as her dads primary caretaker. When Viney was not caring for her dad, you could find her working around one of the many properties she managed. You could often find Viney somewhere at the farm on her tractor, lawnmower, or one of her many work vehicles. Viney loved her many plants around her house and if you were ever on Perkins Rd you might find her outside tending to them.
Viney dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, friends, friends of friends and even strangers. She loved helping others and that was evident in the strong relationships she built over the years on Perkins Rd. Viney's family often questioned some of her decisions, like the many times she would pull over in her van and offer people rides or when she would feed strangers she had just met. She had a heart to serve and never doubted her call from Christ and to be his hands and feet on earth while helping others and sharing God's good news.
Viney graduated from Kennewick High School in 1969 and belonged to the class of 69 reunion committee. Over the year's she has continued to have a close connection to many of her classmates. They met regularly for meetings, lunches, and dinners and she often shared her excitement with family about their many events.
One of Viney's greatest passions was to cook. Cooking was a gift she inherited from her mom's family and she loved everything about it. She spent more time in front of her stove than anywhere else in her home. You could often find her children, grandchildren, and friends gathered in the kitchen while she cooked and shared stories. Viney made it a habit to share the love of God through her cooking and she regularly delivered food to others. It didn't matter if you were the mailman, insurance agent, family, friend, or stranger, she would cook for you and love every minute of it. Viney had a rare talent of taking any ingredients and making a gourmet meal out of it . Viney's door was always open no matter what time of day or night it was. Regardless if it was Dino nuggets for her youngest grandson or ham & cabbage for her older grandchildren she whipped it up.
When Viney and Gerald were married and the kids were small they attended Finley First Baptist Church, eventually moving to Word Of Faith Center, in Kennewick. Viney served in a number of ministries at Word of Faith Center but took the greatest pride serving food for the many functions the church held. After attending WOFC for many years she then transitioned into online services through Elevation Church with Pastor Steven Furtick. She never missed a sermon and sometimes watched it several times throughout the day so that she made sure it got into her spirit.
Viney's greatest accomplishments were her 3 children and how proud she was of them and their families. She often said, "One thing I will say about all my children is they are all successful, hard workers, and LOVE Jesus with all their hearts." She enjoyed sharing their accomplishments with others and spending time with all of them.
Viney is survived by her children, Andre' (Rosabel) Chavez, Shana Chavez, Carlo (Jamie) Chavez all of Kennewick; Grandchildren, Andrew Hernandez, Lane Chavez, Bella Pablo (Eddie), Ty Chavez, Jewel Prantle (Ethan), Cheyenne Chavez, Ellie Chavez, Emma Chavez, Carson Chavez and Tanner Chavez. She is also survived by her ex-husband Gerald Chavez, honorary grandchildren Aaron Johnson and Diego Sabala and numerous family and close friends. She is preceded in death by her Mother Doris N. Sartain and her Father Frank A. Sartain.
A private family viewing will be held September 23, 2021, from 1-2 P.M with a public viewing to follow from 2-4 P.M. at Einan's at Sunset Event Center, 915 Bypass Hwy Richland, WA. A celebration of life will be September 24, 2021 at 2 P.M. at South Hills Church. 3700 W. 27th Ave. Kennewick, WA. Catered food reception immediately following the service at Carlo and Jamie's home.

Kudos to the person who wrote the obituary. You captured her essence. Beautifully written! You added to my understanding of who she really was in heart, soul, and spirit. I did not realize how exceedingly outgoing, caring, & generous she was. (I did enjoy her friendliness and spunky personality though.) I called her LaViney all through school. How remarkable to finally realize her real name was LoveViney! She really did show love, God's love, and radiated love to everyone. LoveViney, enjoy Heaven! I will miss the blessing of YOU here on earth, but I will see you again someday. Your friend and 1969 classmate, Pam Petermann

Viney was a life long friend of my family. Her parents were very good friends with my grandparents since they were younger until the day they passed away. My mom and Viney were very close and they would talk for hours on the phone up until she got sick. Viney was very loving and caring and was always just a phone call away! She is family I grew up knowing her and her children and her sweet father Frank. My heart is saddened she is gone but I know she is with our Father! She always talked about Jesus and was so passionate about helping others. She was so proud of her children, she was a sweet soul that is missed so dearly. She was my mom's last friend she had left. Viney was always checking on mom after dad passed and always helped my mom just by their talks. I love you Viney and I will see you again! Love you Chavez family your momma loved you so much!

Viney Chavez was a loving and generous soul with a heart of gold. She treated friends like family and her greatest joy was co-hosting the annual Chavez Family Reunion which was attended by hundreds from around the Pacific Northwest. I met her at Park Jr. High in 1964 and she was an integral part of our KHS Class of '69 events. Her fun-loving beautiful spirit will always be remembered by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was taken from us too soon but her memory will aways remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace now in the Lord's care.

I thank the Lord for you, Viney. You were there for me when I needed you the most. I am forever grateful for your giving soul. You helped me through a dark time in my life. You never asked for anything from me except to thank the Lord and carry it forward. You will be truly missed by sooooo many. You made a beautiful impression on my heart as well as my son's. For the Chavez', I pray the Lord take your pain away from sadness. Yes, you will soon miss her, but you will meet again someday. Only she will be with Jesus this time. Loves & hugs to you all.
