Nancy Marquart Obituary

Nancy Marquart
July 1, 1959 - May 24, 2022
Pasco, Washington - Nancy Jo (Muth) Marquart, sweet and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother joined the ranks of Angels on May 24th after an heroic battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in Wurzburg, Germany on July 1, 1959 to Cpt Arnold J Muth and Mardell (Behler) Muth. This was the start of her rich and traveled life, first with her parents and siblings in places across the continental US as well as Germany and Japan, then later with her husband, her friends, and her sisters.
Nancy spent her childhood all over the country and world, culminating in graduating from high school in Highland Park, Illinois. Her travels did not end then, as she attended colleges in Lake County Illinois, Kennesaw Georgia, Spokane WA, and finally Washington State University, graduating with a degree in political science. She also graduated with an officer's commission as a Lieutenant In the US Army.
After marrying her husband John Marquart, they moved to Ft Gordon GA where she quickly moved up the ranks to Captain in the Signal Corps before she resigned her commission to raise her newborn son. The young family relocated to Pasco WA after a short stay in Dallas TX.
Nancy raised her children, Michael and Shari, while working as a bookkeeper, first for Kmart and eventually for Travel Leaders in Richland where she quickly became and continued to be a treasured and valued employee. Adding to her bookkeeping responsibilities, she became the focal for European barge and bike tours. Vetting trips offered through the agency gave Nancy more opportunities for the travel she loved, visiting among many other places, Belgium, England, and the Caribbean.
In addition to her family and work, Nancy was a tireless volunteer. A few of the organizations that benefitted from her dedication and service were 4H, Columbia-Burbank school activities, the Boy Scouts, and her very special love, the Friends of the Burbank WA Library.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her husband John, son Michael Marquart, her daughter Shari (Levi) VanSteenkist, grandchildren Bethany and Mitchell VanSteenkist, her parents Mardell and Col. Arnold J Muth, and her siblings Sharon Russell, MariKay (Chad) Everitt, Patti (Mic) Ryan, Arnie (Sharon) Muth, as well as her seven nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Nancy adored flowers and loved the local Farmer's Markets and the colorful floral offerings there, as well as her own gardens at home. Her family welcomes flowers in remembrance of her. If you prefer, however, donations may be made to the Friends of the Burbank Library.
Interment will be at the Medical Lake Veteran's Cemetery, following a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Pasco. The family will notify loved ones when the services are scheduled.

Nancy was a kind neighbor for many years. Through the years she always supported our kiddos buying cookie dough, pop, wrapping paper, the girl´s homemade pillows( lol) and koolaid from their koolaid stand every summer. She was a sweet gal that we remember with friendship and appreciation. Thank you dear God for good neighbors and friends! Amen
