Rollin Mackintosh Obituary

Rollin Bruce Mackintosh

November 8, 1949 - July 20, 2025

Anacortes, Washington - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Rollin Bruce Mackintosh, 75, on July 20, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Born to Bruce and Gloria Mackintosh on November 8, 1949, Rollin grew up in Seattle before moving to Pasco, Washington, where he graduated from Pasco High School in 1968. He went on to earn degrees in Business Education and Anthropology from Central Washington University, followed by honorable service as a tank commander in the Washington Army National Guard.

Rollin's distinguished career spanned over 44 years in banking, where he worked with Seafirst/Bank of America, Sterling Savings, and Skagit Bank. He was deeply committed to his community, dedicating his time to organizations such as Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions Clubs, and, more recently, the Anacortes Auxiliary Citizens Patrol. Yet, the role he cherished most was that of Grandpa, a title that brought him immense pride and joy.

Rollin was an avid swimmer for most of his life, most recently enjoying early morning swims at Fidalgo Pool with friends. He also loved hunting, especially bird and turkey hunting with his dog, Roxy, who will join him in his final resting place. When he wasn't hunting or swimming, Rollin enjoyed motorcycle trips with friends, traveling to destinations like Alaska and Niagara Falls, where he combined his love of adventure with treasured memories.

Rollin is survived by his daughters, Laura Greenfield (Seth) and Marci Neill (Brian), and his beloved grandchildren, Hope, Josie, Ian, and Sophia. He is also survived by his mother, Jeannie Mackintosh; his sister, Zoe Willits (Bill); and many long-time friends whom he valued deeply. Rollin's passing has left an irreplaceable space in the hearts of those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 31, from 2-4 p.m. at Paper Street Brewing Company in Pasco, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund.

Great friend from Pasco High Class of 1968. Recently he and I had discussed our sophomore homecoming when we went as friends so many years ago. So happy to have seen Rollin at our 50th and 55th class reunions. Rest in Peace Rollin.

Very fond memories of you, Rollin. Your parents, Bruce and Gloria, were wonderful people. You had the hottest car- a red Corvair. You possessed a keen wit and wonderful sense of humor. I met you when you dated my sister in the late 60's. These memories are with me to this day. What a guy.

Rollin was my banker, business and hunting partner and most importantly a great friend.
No matter what we were doing together there was always teasing and laughter.
He will be missed.

Rollin and I rode motorcycles to Sturgis several times, Fairbanks Alaska, the Trans Canadian highway to Niagara Falls where our wives and Rollin´s girlfriend met us.
Rollin was a great guy who didn´t sweat the small stuff. He was a valued and close friend. He will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Rollin at Bank of America. I loved his quick wit and laugh. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.
