Shannon Azure Obituary
Shannon Azure
July 17, 1969 - April 3, 2022
Kennewick, Washington - Shannon Azure was born in Pasco, Washington in July of 1969. He was 52 years old and was the oldest of 4 Children. He spent some of his younger years in the Walla Walla School district before moving to the Tri-Cities and building a life in Kennewick. Shannon went to Kamiakin High School where he built relationships that would last him a lifetime (seems like most of them did).
After high school he spent some time in Ketchikan, AK working for his Uncle Tony Azure on his chartered fishing boats and later at the pulp mill. In Ketchikan, Shannon met Christina McGilton with whom he shared four children - Austin (26), Ethan (19), Bailyn (17), and Hudson (16). ??His life was his kids. He happily carried out the duties of fatherhood - although at times with colorful language. Austin, Ethan, Bailyn, Hudson and his dog pal Rex were the light of his life. He was a passionate cook who nearly always served his kids up a home cooked meal. Fred Meyer was his chosen stopping grounds. He could be found there several times a day, especially on the weekend. We never got a chance to talk about it, but I bet he didn't like the new remodel.
Shannon was a brilliant mind. He could read and recall strings of data, random vehicle HP numbers, flight arrivals, construction progress, part numbers, and read every owners manual of the cars owned by those around him. ??He traveled a lot around Eastern Washington due to his job in the Ag industry. He loved working at OnTarget Spray company. With that travel he hit every new restaurant, typically on the opening day, preferably on friends and family day where he knew you could get big discounts and he could say he had been there before anybody else. He really liked being the first. ??Shannon was very involved in the RC racing community in the Pacific Northwest. He loved his racing family and most knew him and his kids. We've been honored to hear the stories from local racers who loved him. ??Shannon loved and followed the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks and Kraken. He was a fan of all the hair bands of the 90's especially Def Leppard, Motley Cru, Bon Jovi, Guns N'Roses, AC/DC, and Poison. Most recently he had started to listen to country music. He was a life long listener of the Howard Stern Show. ??Many people have reached out to let us know how often they talked, texted or at least connected with him regularly. We are so happy he had kept so many relationships during his life. ??Shannon was preceded in death by his father Michael Azure. Shannon is survived by his four kids mentioned earlier, his Mother Vickey Azure, sister Dindi Gould and husband Terry, brother Torey Azure and wife Jennifer, sister Stacey Azure, nieces and nephews Reilyn Gould, Degan Gould, Jensen Gould, Elicia Azure, Elizabeth Azure, Michael Azure, Samantha Azure as well as numerous aunts, uncles and extended family.
Shannon's life ended unexpectedly. He was one of the good ones. We are heartbroken at the thought of not having him here with us. We will stick together and work as a family to be sure his kids are well taken care of while being surrounded by love.
A celebration of Shannon's life will be Saturday, April 9th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Fuse Building in Richland Parkway. ??
