STEVEN DANZ Obituary

STEVEN J DANZ Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home On January 7th, 1998 two girls walked into the Homestead. One left with the greatest blessing of her life, a best friend, lover, and spouse. Eleven months later, these two soul mates married on November 21, 1998. They shared a wonderful blessed life of 17 years. Steven J Danz, born 3/2/1972, lived a full blessed life that continued on to Heaven November 6, 2015. It is hard to understand the Lord's plan and why so soon; he earned his angel wings and will continue to be our guardian angel. He joins his mom Nancy Danz, Grandfather Ed Danz, and Grandparents Kate and Robert Darrington. Steve told Icyle he had no regrets and their 3 kids, Allie, James, and Levi were his greatest accomplishments. He did not meet a person he did not get along with and after 5 minutes that person had a loyal friend for life. His Christian faith grew as a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Basin City, Washington. As a youth he was involved in 4-H and FFA. He was proud of having a custom combine business at 17 years old. Steve loved playing football in high school and attending the FFA National convention, graduating from Connell High School, class of 1991. When he was asked to bring a tractor to help work the land and develop the Field of Dreams he was deeply honored. In 1997 he partnered up with his mom and dad to begin his dream of farming. He served on the National and Local Asparagus Commissions. Traveling to the Ukraine and Washington DC as a member of the Class of 27 with Washington State Ag Forestry Leadership Program was full of enjoyment. He was a very active dad and loved to volunteer at Mesa Elementary, especially on play day. He joined Eagles Nest and the Market Stock Committee at the Benton-Franklin Fair to help better youth programs of the community. His greatest love was fighting fires with Franklin County Fire Districts 1 & 5 and being a First Responder with Franklin County Public Hospital District #1. His legacy continues on with his wife Icyle Danz, daughter Alexandria Danz, sons James & Levi Danz. He is survived by his dad JJ (Judy) Danz, brother Christopher (Kathy) Danz, Niece Sarah Danz, Nephews Quinn & Zorrin Danz, sister and brother from another mother, Laura and Nick VanderMeer, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The viewing will be November 20, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco. The memorial service will be November 21, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kennewick, WA at 10 am followed by a grave side service at Country View Cemetery in Basin City, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbia Basin Jr Livestock Show PO Box 147; Eltopia, WA 99330 or to the Steve Danz Memorial Fund in partnership with Trinity Martial Arts Academy, PO Box 1031; Richland, WA 99352 to help sponsor youth in the AAU National Karate Team. Steve was kind to my son when we were renting a home from his Dad. He would pull up in front of the house and ask if my son Chance would like a tractor ride. He loved going in the tractor. One day they asked him if he could drive a work truck around the field for them and he said yes he could.( He was only 9 or ten) He did alright till he had to turn by a small ditch and turned to soon and drove the truck into the ditch. Steve told me about it the next day and we all had a good laugh. JJ never asked him to drive in the field again. We still fondly talk about that day 14 years ago. Rest in Peace my friend. Thank you for everything you did. God Speed on you journey. It was a privilege and a pleasure to know you. (So sorry JJ, we are praying for you and family)

We are so sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy who was devoted to his family, had a great sense of humor, cared about others, donated his time to helping others and it is so sad that his life was ended so soon. Our thoughts go out to you and the kids. We are glad we got to know him, even if it was for a limited time, and we can't imagine how hard it must be for you and your family to loose someone so special.

Steve will be missed by the entire Franklin County community. He always had a smile, never complained and willing to help. I truly admired him as he was devoted to his family, the farm and his community as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. He was selfless in all he did. I met Nancy when Steven was only a few months old and since my daughter was almost the exact same age, we became friends for years... with the kids growing up together, we spent so much time at each other's homes. Steven was a special, gentle child. His character and personality never changed. Bill Mills, Tabitha and Steven were inseparable... My deepest condolences to his entire family.

I have never met Steve or Icycle but am friends on Facebook and the love of this family is evident. Steve must of been an angel while on earth also, I could feel his love and joy for his family and life even online. Prayers for the family; go out and live the best life possible, because I'm sure that is what he would want and prepared you to do.
