VERONICA JONES Obituary

VERONICA EILEEN BORDEN JONES VERONICA EILEEN BORDEN JONES died on July 2nd, 2018, at her home, attended by her family, following a long illness. Veronica was born to Monica and Archie Borden in Pasco, Washington, on August 22nd, 1939. She lived first in White Bluffs and then Benton City, and most recently in Goldendale, Washington. She attended school at Kiona-Benton School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy of Sprague, Washington. Besides being a homemaker, she was certified as an early childhood teacher in the Montessori method of learning. Respecting her passion for acting, she participated many years in community theater productions. It would be a rare old movie that she could not recite the script word for word. Veronica, fondly called Bonkey by family and friends, had an entertaining sense of humor, most often expressed in one-liners. As a young adult, she could dance all night to the step of the jitterbug, twist, sugar foot, Charleston, two-step, waltz and square dance. Veronica's parents, Monica and Archie Borden, her sister, Dolores Milliman, and her brother, Randall Borden, preceded her in death. She is survived by her three sons, Shawn, Randall and Martin; her sisters, Catherine Finley, Agnes Dauncey, Mary Ann (Sister Marie Monica Borden) and Theresa Borden; her three grandchildren, Ashley, Allysa and Alexa; as well as her five great grandchildren. As a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, Veronica received the final sacraments and blessing of the Church before her death. A memorial mass will be planned for a future date. The Jones and Borden families wish to voice their appreciation for the care their mother/sister Veronica received from the Klickitat Valley Hospital Hospice. Thank you.
