William F. (Bill) Schofstoll, 79, passed away at 12:07, early Saturday morning, on February 25, 2012. He was born on October 1, 1932, in Topeka, KSm and grew up in Suble, KSm and Richland, WA, where he graduated from Columbia High School, now known as Richland High. After graduation Bill entered the Navy and spent 21 years serving his country, with the majority of time in Special Forces.

Bill married while in the service and immediately became the father of two girls. Upon his wife's death he had the privilege of raising the girls. After retiring from the Navy, Bill lived in Portland, OR, where he met Judi. Upon marrying her, he then became the father of 5.

In 1984, they moved to Kennewick, WA, where Bill worked for South Columbia Basin Irrigation District until retirement in 2001.

Bill was preceeded in death by his parents Frederick Schofstoll and Sarrah Hysell as well as a brother and sister. He is survived by his wife, Judi Schofstoll, daughter Sandy Haggerman, daughter GayAnne Peacock and husband Paul, son John Gerhardt and wife Cindy, son Jeff Schofstoll and wife Lynn and daughter Jana Harding. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Bill believed that God is in control of each and every day, and was thankful that Jesus died for him. With this in his heart, Bill died in peace, knowing that he would be entering into the presence of his Savior.

Bill was a member of Community Bible Church, where he faithfully attended and served.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3rd at the Community Bible Church, 5807 Umatilla Ave, in Kennewick, WA.
