John Tohtsoni Obituary
John was preceded in death by his parents, John & Louise Tohtsonie, & nine siblings. He is survived by his wife, L. Mary Tohtsoni, children Edgar, Sharon, Nathan (Tanya), John Jr. (Lesley) and Shannon (Shaun), 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren & five siblings.
John met Mary at Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army. They were married Jan. 13, 1963, in Salina, KS and later moved to Kirtland & Shiprock. John worked in Salina, Fairchild & Arizona Public Service. He later obtained an AA degree, created Bigwater Painter Co. & directed Diné Trees of Life.
At 6 p.m. memorial service Friday, 02/07, at Tooh Worship Center in Shiprock. At 10 a.m. Celebration of Life Saturday, 02/08, at Hooghan Si'ani in Mexican Water, AZ.
John was a servant of God. He grew up a sheepherder & lived his life as a shepherd of Christ. Donations can be made to Desert View Funeral Home at (505) 368-4607.
