Mr. Rutland was a pretty popular name at school for being a subsidiary teacher. He was great at his job as he always did his best monitoring us kids, some of us wilder than others. Hearing this news makes me wish I knew him more than just a sub. He seemed like a great and extraordinary man and we will miss him. Sending condolences to him and his family.

NMHS 2019 Grad here, Mr Rutland was an amazing substitute teacher, filled with wit and stories to tell at a moments notice. His comforting demeanor paired with his patience for us crazy kids was not overlooked. My condolences to the family, God bless.

I shared a lot of laughs with Sam when he was at the school. We talked a lot. His organization also gave my son a scholarship when he graduated from HS in 2014. R.I.P. my friend. Love you.

Sam was a wonderful friend to me since 2016. I will miss him dearly. When I first relocated my career to Northern California, I met Sam at one of the high schools. At first I brushed him off. Shortly, I came to realize that this stranger was someone worth befriending and getting to know. Sam was a wealth of wisdom, intelligence and offered great perspectives on life. Sam was a wonderful and deceit human being because he genuinely cared about people. Oh, how I will miss our evening dinners and happy hours. Sam and I ended up living less than a mile apart. Oh how we would joke and laugh; and just talked about everything. Fremont will never be the same for me. He even introduced to his prestigious friends in the Society. I met Mrs. Jean, Mrs. Betty and Mrs. Allen and what a blessing they have been to me as well. Sam take your rest! My friend you deserve to be at peace! Frieda
