Rhoda Powers Obituary

Rhoda Marie Burcher Powers died Feb. 1, 2011, in South Bend, In. She was born on May 2, 1929 in Honesdale, Pa. She was the daughter of Russell H. and Frieda Burcher of Honesdale, Pa. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School and Susquehanna College.
During her life, Rhoda resided in Kirksville, Mo.; in Sparta, Nj.; and in Tucson, Az.
She is survived by her daughter Terrie Rosania and her husband Stephen of Andover, Nj. and her son Bart Powers and wife Barbara of South Bend, In. Also her four grandchildren: Michael Powers of Tucson, Az, Erin McGhee of South Bend, In. and Theodore and Fredrick Rosania of Andover, Nj. Rhoda also has 2 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters in law Thelma Burcher, Honesdale, Pa., and Ann Burcher of Umatilla, Fl. Her niece and nephews are Jack R. Burcher, Gary Burcher, Robert Burcher, Susan Burcher Klikus, Terry Burcher, all of Honesdale, Pa., and William Burcher of Fairfield, Pa. and Steve Burcher of Osteen, Fl.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her former husband, Dr. Robert Powers, by her youngest son G. Lynn Powers, and by her brothers Russell W. Burcher and Jack T. Burcher.
As per her request, there will be no services.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, In., 46637.
