ELWOOD MCGUIRE

ELWOOD MCGUIRE Pratt-Elwood McGuire, 93, passed away November 16, 2025 at Hilltop Manor. He was born March 6, 1932 in Pratt to Walter and Lee Ora (Kinnamon) McGuire. Elwood married Nola (Morisse) McGuire on January 28, 1961 in Pratt. They were married for 64 years. Elwood graduated from Pratt High School in 1950. He was a farmer and he worked in the oilfield in the winters. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Elwood was in 4-H as a child, attended Rural school then went to North Pratt School. He was on the Soil Conservation Board, Cullison Co-op Board, and in a Bowling league. He enjoyed bowling, working, farming, boating, water skiing, dancing and woodworking. Elwood and Nola enjoyed taking their motor home to South Texas where they would square dance, ride bicycles and meet many people who became great friends for nearly 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Nola McGuire; daughter, Sherry (George) Cross of Pratt; son, Kenneth (DeNean) McGuire of Pratt; brother, John (Marie) McGuire of Pratt; grandchildren, Corey McGuire of Texas, Mark Cross of Iowa, Brian Cross of Kansas, Terrence McGuire of New Jersey, Tyson McGuire of Kansas, Justin McGuire of Kansas; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews Elwood is preceded in death by his father, Walter McGuire; mother, Lee Ora McGuire; brother, Rodney McGuire; grandsons, Kevin McGuire and Eric Cross; and step-mother, Laurine McGuire. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 23,2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025 with Pastor Michael Schotte presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
