Alice Brock Obituary

PETERSBURGH - Alice M. Brock, 96 of Route 2 died on Saturday morning at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. A lifelong resident and born in Petersburgh on May 5, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Porter and Nellie Jones Crandall. She was the loving wife of the late Claude L. Brock who died on June 18, 1985. They were married on May 14, 1938
Alice attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in Stillman Village and also attended Berlin High School She was a homemaker for many years, obtaining her driver's license at the age of 62 and her GED at the age of 65. She was a foster grandparent for the Kiddie Care program in North Petersburgh and also volunteered at Head Start. Alice was a lifelong member of the Petersburgh United Methodist Church, past president and former member of the Petersburgh Volunteer Fire Department's ladies auxiliary and a former member of the Petersburgh Rescue Squad. She enjoyed knitting and her flower garden. She loved to travel and visited Hawaii, Florida and Ireland.
Survivors include her children Everett A. Brock, Shirley A. Boomhower, Earl G. Brock and Raymond H. Brock all of Petersburgh, a dear family friend Roger Clark of Monson, MA, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings Edgar Crandall, Dorothy Goodermote, baby Harry Crandall along with two grandsons Michael Patrick Brock and John Paul Brock.
Funeral services will held on Wednesday at 1 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh where Rev. Gaylord "Jake" Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Brock Family Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm. Contributions may be made to the Petersburgh United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home, PO Box 361, Petersburgh, NY 12138

Alice was every kid's Gramma..did'nt matter who you were or what you ever did,she loved you anyway! Many happy memories all of us kids will have forever of her smiling at us and her hugs! God bless all the family...
