Bertha Snay Obituary

SNAY, BERTHA COHOES - Bertha M. Snay, 81, of Eddy Village Green and formerly of Waterford died Tuesday January 10, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born and educated in Ellenburg she was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence LeClair Charette. She had resided in Cohoes for a number of years and later at VanSchoonhoven Apartments in Waterford. Bertha was retired from Our Lady of Hope Nursing Home in Latham. Prior to that she had been employed at St. Mary's Hospital and the former Highgate Nursing Home in Troy. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. She is the widow of Edward J. Snay who died in 1987. She is mother of Michael E. Snay (Sally) of Tellico Plains, TN, Kenneth F. Snay (Donna) of Mechanicville and Randy W. Snay (Lynneane) of Waterford. She is the sister of Elaine Trombley of Chicopee, MA, Royal Charette of Nevada, Lorraine Tatro of East Hampton, MA the late Leo, Morris and Raymond Charette and Veronica LeClair. Also surviving are her grandchildren Caryn, Christopher, Joshua and Victoria Snay, Kenneth Snay Jr., Jennifer Anderson and Myah Snay and her great grandchildren Brian and Juliet. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 4-8 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to Eddy Village Green Quality of Life Fund in care of the funeral home office.
