Frederick C. “Otto” Baumback BRUNSWICK - Frederick C. “Otto” Baumback, born February 4, 1923, died April 2, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harry L. Fred was a graduate of Troy High School Class of 1942. He was an army veteran of World War II, having served at Anderes Central Europe, Normandy, and the Rhineland. He received the European, African Medal, Eastern Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Fred worked at G.E. in Schenectady for 36 ½ years. Fred was active in many community organizations. He was a member of Christ Church, United Methodist, and a member of Apollo-King Solomon Masonic #13 FNM for 65 years where he was Chairperson of the Widows’ Program. He was a 32o mason and a member of Troy Delta Bodies, Albany Sovereign Consistory AASR, the Oriental Shrine Temple, the Patrol Unit, the Troy Conference Builders’ Club, the Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, the Edward C. Fred also received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Methodist Sunday School Association. Fred received a plaque from the Troy Boys and Girls Club in honor and deep appreciation of faithful, devoted, and valuable service to the Old Timers Association in 1999. In Fred’s words, “Flowers soon fade away so please, in lieu of flowers, I request memorial gifts to the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital in care of Oriental Temple, 39 Brunswick Road, Troy, NY 12180 or the Troy Boys and Girls Club, 1700 Seventh Avenue, Troy, NY 12180 to help with their work.” The greatest gift our dad gave us was our faith in God, our pride in ourselves, our sense of family, and the knowledge that his love for us was unconditional and ever growing. We celebrate his life and the joy his presence gave us. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Church United Methodist, 35 State Street, Troy, NY 12180. Dear Rosa and Family:
So very sorry about Fred's passing. I was away and the girls in the office told me and I was shocked. I will miss the candy he would always have for us and he would say have you been a good girl. He had a very good sense of humor. He will be missed. If there is anything I can do, please let me know, I understand.

Pastor Alan, Mrs. Baumback, and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I have so enjoyed his humor and conversation each month when I attend the Rotterdam United Methodist Church. He would always stop by to visit with my Dad, Warren Moore, who grew up in the same Troy church as Fred, so many years ago. It has meant so much to my Dad to have reconnected with Fred and Rosa the past few years, to reminisce with childhood friends who remember my father's parents and had my Dad's father as a Sunday School teacher! Fred will be fondly remembered and missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mrs. B., Alan, and Nancy,
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr B. I will always remember him wanting me to give him my dresses, when I was done with them, so he could have ties made from them. I will also remember his love for his family and friends. What a wonderful Husband, Dad, Friend and Volunteer - he will be missed by many. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all and the rest of the family during this sad time. May you find peace in knowing that he is now with our Lord and also with Paul.

Rosa - I was so sad to learn of Fred's passing. He was a very sweet man and his eyes always got a special twinkle when speaking of you. His stories and wacky sense of humor made working the information desk much more enjoyable. He will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Baumback:
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Fred come through Medical Records at Samaritan to pick up his "tabs" for the Shriner's Hospital. Each time we pull off a tab from a can, we think of him and will continue to do so. I was so very sorry to hear of his passing, but will remember him with a smile, as he often made all of us smile with his quips and quotes. "Women don't age - they age their husbands." How true! My sincere sympathy.
