Joan Huls Obituary

HULS, JOAN STEPHENTOWN - Joan Linda Huls, 68 passed away July 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Pittsfield, MA, the beloved daughter of William F. and Floy M. Hall. She was raised in Stephentown and attended New Lebanon Central School. Joan is survived by her high school sweetheart husband Harry Arthur Huls, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this December. She was the loving and devoted mother of Trevor (Debbie) Huls, Tina Huls (Craig Alldredge) and Tanya Huls (John Nestler). Joan cherished her grandchildren Evan, Ashley, Cassidy and Tanner. Joan is also survived by her loving sister and best friend Mary Roberts and her daughters Tracy and Lorri. She was predeceased by a loving niece Tara. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery in the fall following private family services. In remembrance of Joan, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County in care of Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, PO Box 9, Stephentown, NY 12168.

Joansie, my dear, sweet sister: You were so kind and gentle under that tough exterior. We all knew if you were busting that you liked the person, otherwise you ignored them.
You were the first one to try to help anyone in need but never wanted any thanks for it.
I am so proud of you, the cheerleader, honor student, beauty queen, accompished horseback rider, card shark, married to the school jock, college student, modeling at the winner's circle, secretary to how many?? headmasters at Darrow School for 30+ yrs and boy could you handle that '57 chevy..... yet SO humble.
I will always love and respect you. My heart is aching without you but I know that you will watch over me as you always did. Your spirit will be with me forever.
