Lois Bussey Obituary

Lois M. Bussey WATERFORD - Lois M. Bussey, 86, formerly of Waterford died Thursday March 22, 2012 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes. Born in Waterford she was the daughter of the late William and Cora Spoon Curtin. She was a 1943 graduate of Waterford High School. Lois was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. After raising her children she began her 2nd career working her way up to Director of Admissions at the former Leonard Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford, a former member of the Mother's Club at St. Mary's School where she also was a Girls Club Leader. She was a Girl Scout Leader, and a member of J.W. Ford Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary and played softball on the Auxiliary team. She also belonged to the Tuesday Night Bowling League at the former Camps in Waterford. She was the widow of John Bussey who died in 2005. The couple had been married 58 years. She was the mother of Patricia B. Etta (Charles) of Sewickley, PA, Paul W. Bussey of Waterford and Kathleen M. Degnan (Joseph) of Troy and was the sister of Marjorie J. Forchilli of Cohoes. She was the proud grandmother of Karah Greco, Ryan Bussey, Jessica Bussey, Patrick Degnan, Bryan Degnan and Lauren Etta and loving great grandmother of Michael, Sierra, Issac, Joey, Jane, Mikey, Kelly and Brody. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Disease Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home office.
