I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Nick. He was a great friend to me growing up and a joy to know. He loved playing for the Patriots, and he was a great kid to have on the team. I know my father loved having him on the team. My condolences.

Nick's friends at the Ronald McDonald House would like to send their condolences and sympathy to his family. We just heard the sad news today and our hearts are heavy. Hey Nick, I know your up there smiling down on Katie, Jimmy, Maddie, and your mom and dad. You were a strong willed man and you will be forever missed. I know we were never really close or hung out or anything along those lines, but everyone knew you as "The man that always smiled. And the man who never gave up." Nick came into our family over 4 years ago and our lives were changed forever. The first things I learned about Nick were he was a survivor and a fighter. I never heard him talk angrily about his illness, though I am sure he was, I just witnessed an incredible kick butt attitude. Even though he was fighting a battle he wanted life for himself as normal as possible. Making life normal I watched him graduate from college, play basketball, working out to stay in shape, camping and being with his friends having fun. I also had the pleasure of participating in the relay for life with him carrying the banner out of pride of both of us being survivors. I want to thank the Masterson family for sharing their son with us and then share with everyone reading this that Nick never wanted anyone to be sad for him. So I will celebrate his life and hold onto the memories.

R.I.P. Nick....although we were not really close we still did talk occasionally and you were always such a sweet heart to everyone around you! Words can't even describe how much I am going to miss him. Nick had a spirit that will go unmatched forever. He never gave up and always had a smile on his face. Nick I just heard of your passing. You had such a passion for everything you did in life. When you came to work for me at DD you always had a smile on your face and everytime you arrived at work you would greeted me with one of your famous hugs. I remember you asking me to come to your high school baseball games and I never said no, I actually felt it was a privilege to be asked. It was an honor to know you and you have left everyone with many wonderful memories. Another angel has earned his wings.

Dear Joy, Jim and family: He was so brave. He always lived on a positive note. The thing that tickled me the most is hearing him call me Grandma. I cannot say how sorry I am for your loss. He will never be forgotten. I am sure he will meet my husband, which I am sure he will call Grandma, up in Heaven. They had alot in common as they were both fighters and wanted to live on as long as they could. Even in pain, they had a lust for life. How wonderful to see that they did not give up, but God was ready to take them and at that point they were willing to go. We were blessed to have Nick as part of our family for over 3 years. He was one of the most courageous people I knew. He never let his disease stop him. The fun times and memories that we had will be with us forever. To the Masterson family, we are so sorry for your loss, but you should be so proud of Nick for what he had accomplished in such a short period of time. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
