Paul R. Corey WATERVLIET – Paul R. Corey, 64, beloved husband for 40 years of Karen Conroy Corey, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 22, 2013 at his home. Born in Albany on July 22, 1948, Paul was the son of Regina A. Pickett Corey, who survives, and the late Robert B. Corey. He was a lifelong Watervliet resident and was a graduate of the former St. Patrick's School in Watervliet, Catholic Central High School in Troy and the Albany College of Pharmacy. Paul was employed, for many years, as a registered pharmacist. He loved spending time with his family and had an appreciation of American and local history. Paul enjoyed discussing politics and loved the Adirondacks where he would vacation in the summertime. An avid outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a fan of the New York Yankees. Paul was a member of the North Troy Rod and Gun Club; had formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Watervliet Senior Citizen Center and was an active and lifelong communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet. He was currently a parishioner of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet. In addition to his wife and mother, Paul is survived by his loving children, Christine Corey Wilkinson (Gerald), Brian Corey (Lisa Jubert) and Matthew Corey; his much loved and cherished grandchildren, Avery and Julianne Wilkinson; his dear sisters; Kathleen Corey Flaherty and Anne Blanchard (Richard), his dear aunt and uncle, Rosalie and Charles Adams; his mother-in-law Katherine Janicelli Conroy; brothers-in-law, William (Faith) Conroy, Michael (Diane) Conroy, Gary (Carol) Conroy and sister-in-law Colleen (David) Messier. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul's funeral will be held from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Thursday at 10:15 am and at 11 am in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 25th Street and 7th Avenue Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Paul's cousin, the Reverend John F. Tallman. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Family and friends are invited and may also visit with Paul's family on Wednesday from 4 until 7 pm at the funeral home.
