Roberta M. Large

Roberta M. Large VALLEY FALLS - Roberta M. (Clapham) Large, 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with her illness. Born in Endwell, NY she is the daughter of the late James and Roberta (Maier) Clapham. Roberta was a 1979 graduate of Maine-Endwell High School, later earning her bachelor’s degree from Plattsburgh State University and a Master’s Degree from Russell Sage College. She was employed by the Troy Central School District as a Special Education Teacher at Carroll Hill Elementary. Roberta along with her husband are longtime communicants of Transfiguration Parish (St. Bonaventure’s). She enjoyed music and travelling, but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family and friends. Roberta is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Richard Large; her children, Danielle Large, James Large and Christopher Large; her brothers, James (Elizabeth) and Timothy (Susan) Clapham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents Roberta was predeceased by her brother Daniel Clapham. Those wishing to remember Roberta in a special way may make memorial contributions in her name to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Rd. Rensselaer, NY 12144. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Roberta on Saturday June 27th at 11 a.m. at Transfiguration Parish (St. Bonaventure’s). Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
