Virginia Hopper Obituary

Virginia A. Hopper
Virginia Snow Hopper of Trumbull CT, born Nov. 5, 1927 in Westhampton, NY, daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Midgley Snow, passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2022. Virginia graduated from Center Moriches High School, Class of 1944, and Southampton Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN degree. She served for a short period of time in the Cadet Nursing Corps in WW II. She loved being a nurse and worked at various hospitals, nursing homes and doctor's offices in her career. Virginia was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a past Mother Adviser and Grand Deputy of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was a 60 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A descendant of the early colonists of Massachusetts and New York, she was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, the Bolles Society and the Wyckoff Society. Virginia was very active in the Long Hill United Methodist Church. Virginia is survived by her husband of 75 years, Bertram J. Hopper, Jr and her daughters, Claire Ervin and husband, Craig, of Fairfield, CT and Dorothy Lupariello and husband, Daniel, of Shelton, CT. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Sarah Hubert and her husband John of Trumbull, CT, Kristen Maier of Des, Plaines, IL, and grandsons, Gregory Hopper of Altamonte Springs, FL, Kyle Hopper of Mount Dora, FL, and Frank Lupariello of Shelton, CT. She is survived by great-grandchildren, John Hubert III of Milford, CT, Craig and Analise Hubert of Trumbull, CT and Maria Maier of Des Plaines, IL. She was predeceased by her son, Charles Hopper.
Funeral services were held at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, Trumbull, CT.I Interment was in Lawncroft Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main St. Trumbull, CT 06611.
