Abelardo G. AYALA

AYALA, Abelardo G. 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 20, 2017. Beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolina, and their children, Catalina (Louis) Hollingsworth, Abelardo (Beverly), Carolina (Reinhard) Neder, Elizabeth (Andrew) Dinnerstein, Celina Collins and Sandra (Mark) Barton. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Natalie, Robert, Katie, Allison, Alexander, Joseph, Mackenzie, Celina-Marie, Clarissa and great-granddaughter, Hailee. He is also survived by his beloved brother, Rene Ayala, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Abelardo worked at the copper mine in San Manuel for over 23 years, a job he loved so much he earned awards for not missing a day of work. His love of baseball was only surpassed by his love of God and family. "Tata" was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017, 5:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, October 30, 2017, 10:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
