Alice Maldonado SALAZAR

SALAZAR, Alice Maldonado 78, of Tucson, died at 9:40 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. She was born May 25, 1939 in Sonora, Arizona, to Ramon and Agrepina Maldonado. She met and fell in love with Mike Salazar "Sugar Babe" in the year of 1961 and he survives. Survived by her sister, Consuelo Casillas; brother, Gilbert "Beto" Maldonado and five children, Victor Salazar of Tucson, Gilbert (Robbie) Salazar, Richard (Dianna) Salazar, Mike Jr. (Rosalva) Salazar and Michelle (Chris) Salazar of El Paso; four granddaughters, seven grandsons, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and 52 extended grandchildren. Alice's parents Agrepina and Ramon, and her two sisters, Sarah Ramos and Dora Diaz preceded her in death. Alice was a long-time resident of South Tucson where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Superior, Arizona at the age of 18. She was an accountant clerk for the City of Tucson for 37 years before she retired and fully committed her time to being with "Sugar Babe". She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and Thursday date nights with her husband. She enjoyed reading, camping, and giving to her community as much as possible. Her memories live on forever in our hearts. "Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you.
