Strange thing - around November 30th I began to think about my childhood friend, Avon (Bundle) Young. I told my husband I was going to look him up on the Internet. Well, I did and just read your post with great sadness. I too grew up in Tucson, born in 1940 and went to Davidson school. Bundle and I used to ride on one horse, bareback, down the Rillito river to go swimming on the west side of Tucson.
Sometimes my mother would hear a knock on the door only to open it and have a horse staring at her. Bundle would be on its' back thinking this was pretty funny. He would be there to pick me up and we'd ride off for the whole day. Often I would go down to his house north of Ft. Lowell near Davidson school. Bundle and I were both skinny kids. My mom used to say, "that boy is going to be real handsome one of these days." I don't even remember how we lost track of each other, and now I'm so sad he's gone.

Bun is the one who had us all chasing wild horses in the river bed and foot hills. He taught me a horse will 'scrape' you off if he didn't want to be ridden. I was proud he persued the rodeo circuit because it was something he loved.

I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Avon. To Phil, Linda, and extended family, seems like just yesterday that we were kids together and I am sure that we will all be together again someday. With Love and Affection, Susy Jannetto

As a new "member" of the family, I only knew Avon for a short while but his spirit endeared me to him instantly. He may now be absent from the body, but of a certain he is present with the Lord. May that knowledge bless his Darlene and his large family with joy and hope.
