Beatrice "Bea" KIMBERLIN

KIMBERLIN, Beatrice "Bea" Born in Colbert, Oklahoma November 9, 1912, she died at home in Tucson, Arizona, August 19, 2017 at age of 104 and nine months. She was the middle of three daughters born to Calvin Luther and Ada Wilson Pyles. Her family moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, in 1919 and she graduated from Pauls Valley High School in the spring of 1930; she married Grant Kimberlin, her high school sweetheart, in September, 1930 and they were married 70 years until his death in October, 2000. During the years of their marriage, they lived in Oklahoma City, Tucson, Ardmore, Oklahoma, Phoenix, Arizona and Bisbee, Arizona. For 20 years Bea worked as an administrative secretary and registrar for TUSD, serving at Mission View and Safford elementary schools. Bea and Grant were very active in square and round dancing in southeastern Arizona for many years. She has been an active member of First Christian Church in Tucson most of the time since 1950; for 16 years she was an active member of the Warren Community Church in Bisbee. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Evelyn and Kathleen; her husband, Grant and her son, Jim Kimberlin. Beatrice is survived by her son, Larry Kimberlin; her daughter, Sara Ashley Felder; her daughter-in-law, Vida Kimberlin; her five grandchildren, David (Jacqueline) Kimberlin, Michael Kimberlin, Raymond (Loretta) Kimberlin, Jeffrey Ashley and Alisa Ashley; her eight great-grandchildren and her three great-great- grandchildren. A Celebration of life service will be held at First Christian Church Tucson at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017.
