Betty Jo "Jody" CLARK

CLARK, Betty Jo "Jody" 79 (one day shy of 80), passed away on July 14, 2017. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Wilt and a brother, Bill. Jody has four sisters, Freda, Mary Lou, Marty, Helen and many nieces and nephews. Jody graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, IN with a teaching degree in 1958. Several years later she and her very best friend, Judy, headed to Tucson for warmer weather and teaching contracts with TUSD. Jody is survived by her husband of 56 years, Emerson "Em"; son, John and daughter, Elizabeth; five grandkids, Davis, Robert, Leigh-Leigh, Daniel and Matthew and a great-grandson, Davis Jr. Jody's love was family and close friends, including bridge playing pals, Marty, Carol and Judy. 44 years ago she did a "two week sub" for a neighbor at The West, a non-profit needlepoint and gift store. The "two week sub" turned into 44 years of joy while cashiering and training new volunteers during her five weekly half-days. Jody developed many friendships at The West and loved every minute - except when a cash register malfunctioned. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Saint Mark's Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. 3rd. St., in approximately a month. A brief announcement of the date will be published via the obituary section.
