Bill Bearden Obituary

BEARDEN, Bill J., Bill, a Green Valley resident, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at the V.A. Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 77 years. He was born in Oklahoma City and lived there 12 years, then moved to Kansas City Missouri, to live with his father. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Corpsman during the Korean War. Bill was very proud of his service with the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge from service, Bill worked for the Bendix Corp. where he became involved with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and served as Secretary of local 314. He and his family moved to Arizona in 1969. Bill worked for Salt River Project 17 years. During that time, he was elected to Business Manager of I.B.E.W. Local 266 and held that position until 1986 when he retired. After retiring and moving to Rio Rico, Arizona, Bill became involved with volunteer community work and served on the Santa Cruz County Board of Adjustment, the Tubac Fire District Board, the Nogales International Airport Expansion Committee and helped on numerous elections. Bill's interests included politics, woodworking and oil painting. Bill was a 32nd Degree Mason. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; his son, Stuart and was preceded in death by his daughter, Felicia. No Services are planned. Arrangements by GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY.

WE WERE SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT BILL.
BILL SO ENJOYED WORKING WITH BILL AT SRP AND HAS MANY GREAT MEMORIES OF HIM AND THE TIME THY SPENT TOGETHER.
