Cecelia Sayklay Jacob saw the Lord's face October 17, 2014, her 66th wedding anniversary to her husband, John Edward. Cecelia was born in El Paso, Texas on March 6, 1923 to Richard Alexander and Freida Sayklay. John and Cecelia met in 1947 when John travelled to El Paso with family for a UA/UTEP football game. At the game that night, John told Sam "I met your sister today and I'm going to marry her." Cecelia is one of five siblings, sister, Lillian Malouff lives in La Junta, Colorado. Brother, Joe (Nouha) Sayklay resides in El Paso, Texas. Brothers, Alex and Sam Sayklay are deceased. Cele and John had six children, Loretta (Norm) Carlson, Cynthia (Rich) Morgan, Donald Jacob, Daniel (Marion) Jacob, Dianne (Monte) Moore, John Jacob II. Grandchildren, Marc Young (Matt Fellows), Amber Morgan, Olivia and Graham Jacob, Charlotte and Faye Moore, Jason (Ceci) Ganem, Kevin (Shannon) Ganem. Cecelia was a devoted wife, mother and tireless servant of the Lord and the Tucson Community. Cecelia served St. Ambrose Church as a Eucharist Minister, Lector and Altar attendant. She was a member of the Cursillo, Catholic Daughters, and the Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher. Cecelia was a devout supporter of the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration, and a member of Kappa Delta Phi philanthropic Sorority. You all know her beautiful smile, when she saw you on any average day, she would greet you saying," This is the Day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad." She greeted everyone that way. We honor our mom Cecelia on what would have been her 92nd birthday! We turn toward thoughts of Love, Beauty, Joy, Wisdom, Health, Wholeness, Vitality, Abundance and harmonizing prosperity which fills our minds and hearts. As mom would say: these vibrational thoughts travel out into the universe, multiply and return to us! Choicest Blessing, Everlasting Love! Your Darling John, Loretta, Cyndy, Don, Dan, Dianne and JJ. Donations in Cecelia's name can be made to the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration.

My deepest condolences go out to each and every one in the Jacob family. My experiences with Cecelia and John were limited, but very pleasant. We met at the Dance studio for the first time and then at the restaurant. Her smile and sweet disposition were never ending and greatly appreciated....a precious soul. She will always be missed. But the greatest thing of all is that there is no question that she is with The Almighty Lord, awaiting the arrival of the rest of her loved ones. May you all find peace in knowing that. May God greatly bless you.

Dan & Don,
My heartfelt sadness goes out to each of you & your large family. All Tucson has shared either directly or indirectly from the strong matriarchal strength in spiritual religious zeal, benevolent yet firm family mentoring, & fantastic culinary expertise that made for so many wonderful memories at El Parador! Your pride lies in the fact that her journey to heaven is swiftly confirmed by her continued faith in God, & her unceasing acts of love & charity for her faith, family, & our community. Though her physical presence will will be missed, her imparted conscience, wisdom, & eternal faith in God will live on in those whose lives she touched. Her toils are complete, and her soul may now rest in the light of God's love for her humble life's endeavors as His loving servant on Earth! Joyful peace is at hand!
