Cecil Taylor Obituary
Cecil "Corky" R. Taylor, Jr. peacefully passed away May 20, 2022, crossing his final finish line. Beloved by many, he was an exceptional athlete and charismatic "people" person. Born to Patricia A. Taylor and Cecil R. Taylor, Sr. on October 31, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri, he graduated from Southeast High School with athletic honors and attended Kansas State University (KSU) to play football and receive bachelor's degree. Corky was first round draft pick with the Los Angeles Rams NFL team, '55-'56 and in the US Army, '57. In 1964, Corky moved his family to Tucson, Arizona and had an impactful career of 27 years with the University of Arizona as an administrator. Corky enjoyed golfing, puttering in his garage and loved traveling, camping and boating. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia G. Taylor; brothers Edward and Roger Taylor; son Mark Taylor and wife Kimberly; daughters Suzanne and Brenda Taylor; and three grandchildren, Zack Woods, Natalie and Nicole Taylor. My husband Carl Bellini was a friend of Corky.
They were stationed at Ft. Myers and played baseball together which I have a picture.
Carl passed away 3 years ago. He had fond memories of Corky.

Never really knew Corky, but enjoyed watching him play for Southeast Hs and later was proud of the way he represented K STATE. So glad such a talented man would be remembered as a humble person. Just a tidbit, his Dad gave me a ride when I was hitchhiking home from DLS high school in 1950 He impressed me as Gentleman.

Dear Patty and family,
I am so sorry you are without Corky. You all know what a dear and special person you have wonderful memories of. Dick and I carried remembrances of Dick and sons adding the edition to your home and how that was the beginning of our long friendship. I send deepest sympathy to you all. With love, Jane

Corky was one of my first bosses at the University of Arizona, Residence Life. He was a kind, even-tempered and gentle man and I always thought he dealt fairly with both students and staff. My condolences to Patty and the entire Taylor family. I know Corky will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
