DaNita Battles

BATTLES, DaNita Marie, August 19, 1958 - December 30, 2005. DaNita died peacefully at home after a determined fight with cancer. DaNita was born in Berlin, Wis. She married Rodger Battles in Decaturville, TN on October 15, 1977. DaNita and her husband worked and owned a pool business in the Tucson area for the last 22 years. She was an active member of the Mescal Volunteer Fire Department, where she was certified as a Fist Responder and Wildland Firefighter. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodger Battles, Benson, AZ and their children, Rodger (Jamie) Battles, Colorado Springs, CO, Tara Battles, Benson, AZ and Ian Battles, Benson, AZ. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Jessie and Alexis; her parents, David and Dawn Peterson, Wautoma, WI; brothers and sisters, Chris (Annie) Peterson, Benson, AZ, David (Beth) Peterson, Wautoma, WI, Thomas (Patty) Peterson, Appleton, WI, Dylan Besk, Sacramento, CA, Michelle (Greg) Schroeder, Madison, WI, Tiana Peterson, Brooklyn, NY, her grandmothers, Margie Polcyn-Sommerfeldt, Montello, WI and Phyllis Peterson, Wautoma, WI. She will be missed by the Mescal Fire Dept. members, friends and family. A memorial service will be held at the Mescal Fire Dept. on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in DaNita's name may be sent to the Mescal Volunteer Fire Dept. in Benson.
